Mossley, a Fairtrade Town

John Henshaw, actor and local resident, presented
the Certificate of Fairtrade Town Status to the Mayor of Mossley, Councillor Anthony Milne who received it on behalf of the Town.

Mossley achieved Fairtrade Town Status on 5th September 2011.

Becoming a Fairtrade Town is an incredible achievement but remains only one significant step on our Fairtrade Journey!

We, as consumers, have an important role to play to improve the situation for producers across the world. We are using our power as a community to make trade work for communities in developing countries.

Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. Becoming a Fairtrade Town means that, as a community, we make a stand against poverty by supporting Fairtrade.
