Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 – A look back

Fairtrade Fortnight 2018 challenged the British public to open their doors to Fairtrade and help close the door on the exploitation facing the people who produce the things we love to eat, drink, and wear.

We invited the whole of Mossley to ‘Come on In’ to Fairtrade

We had decorated doors and windows around the town highlighting the growers and producers of Fairtrade goods.

Mossley’s Fairtrade Street from 2018

We had Fair Ted’s Fairtrade Taster Stall at Mossley Co-op and Fair Ted’s Community Big Brew at Mossley Methodist Church

Mossley Businesses & Schools’ Partnership

All Mossley schools were involved in Fairtrade Fortnight 2018

Children are great advocates for fairness and justice. Having extra funding for activities, events and learning sessions helps children see the difference that Fairtrade can make.

Thanks to generous sponsorship from several Mossley businesses pupils and staff CAME ON IN to Fairtrade getting active to change the world for the better while having fun and learning how we can stand with farmers and close the door on exploitation.

Events included

  • breakfast clubs
  • creating displays
  • parents/carers coffee mornings
  • assemblies
  • learning sessions

This was all made possible thanks to our business sponsors: Anderton, Akbar & Procter, Broadbent & Co, Ellison IT Services Ltd, Emmaus Mossley, Life’s A Beach, Mossley Browser, Mossley Organic & Fine Foods, Pattisons, Salsa Beauty Rooms & Your Tax Shop.
